Why do people use passive fire protection NSW?

Intumescent coat is Passive Fire Protection NSW specialist paint which reacts chemically when it’s heated on fire. The coat expands in terms of size for forming a char that helps in protecting the steelwork for a particular time period from heat of fire. It would help in protecting the steel completely.
Why do people need intumescent coating?
The whole purpose of the structural steel as well as passive fire protection is giving the occupants of the building sometime for evacuating the building. Steel is quite a versatile and a versatile building material. But at 550 degrees it starts losing the structural integrity.
Intumescent paint for protection of steel is usually opaque and thick and finished with think protective fire retarding coating which is quite similar to gloss. The coat composition is based on the organic resin binder, which is acrylate typically epoxy or rubber.

Since the temperature helps in raising the binder starts melting and blowing agent helps in liberating the gases causing controlled expansion. Also, there is some degradation of carbon backbone as well as the fusion of inorganic reinforcing material which results in solidification of char.
In the age of glass and steel commercial buildings today, the exposed steel work is many times the integral designing feature only. The intumescent coatings makes the steel versatile and could be used as designing feature while confirming to the regulations of the building.

So this is the main reason why passive fire protection is used.
