Intumescent Paint: A better way of protection from fire

Intumescent is a substance that swells due to heat. It gets increase in volume and decrease in density. It is used for fire protection or passive fire protection and are getting used these days to keep away accidents which can cause due to fire.

What is Intumescent paint NSW?

Intumescent paint provides an appearance similar to that coat. At some temperature it remains stable. And in times of fire situation it gets increase as temperature increase and causes a chemical reaction. Their coatings expand too many times to its original size and this provides insulating foam like coating or “char”.

Types of Intumescent paint:

•    Soft char: It produce light char. It is a poor conductor of heat. These materials contain some amount of hydrates. When these hydrates get spent then water vapor is released. And when this thing happen then the insulation characteristic of the char remains, then it slow down the heat transfer from the exposed side to unexposed. Soft char mostly used in film Intumescent for fireproofing structural steel and fire stop pillows.
•    Hard char: sodium silicates and graphite are the component of hard char. These products were used in plastic pipe Firestop and exterior steel fireproofing. The most important thing about the hard core is that more substantial car has to be produced for exerting quantifiable expansion pressure. In fact, in Firestop a melting, burning plastic pipe must be squeezed together so that it would get shut when fire gets catch and there would be no opening of fire to spread. A hydrocarbon fire must be available for exterior fireproofing.

Fire Dampers is a way to provide safety

Fire damper is technology which helps to provide safety to you and give protection to your building.

What are the different methods of fire damper?

There are some primary methods for fire dampers NSW closure in the event of a fire. They are;

•    Electrically actuated fire damper: When a fire is detected, a signal is sent to the damper so that it can energize it. And accordingly it energizes and closes the damper.
•    Thermal actuated fire damper: Fusible link installed horizontally in a floor and ceiling application. It can also install vertically in a wall application. The damper may be installed within a wall and the fire damper drops down to shut off the flow of air. The fusible link helps to hold the damper open. And when you detect the fire, then fusible link melts and allows the damper to close.
•    Pneumatically actuated fire damper: Electric damper depends upon compressed air to activate the dampers. A pneumatic controls use is the most popular one. The pneumatic tubing and piping could easily develop leaks. But the pneumatic control systems were replaced by direct digital controls or electrical.
•    Hydraulic actuated fire damper: It is a reliable solution to the inherent problems in swing check application.
Different kinds of fire dampers:
It is classified according to the following factors;
•    How they are accurate or forced to close.
•    The physical constraints of their installation.
•    The fire rating of the ceiling, floor or wall.

So getting proper safety measures for your place fire dampers are one of the most easiest way.

Vermiculite Spray NSW – The Best Versatile Passive Fire protection

While passive fire protection system is installed in large constructions, it must be ensured that the material used in the components hasfire resistingcapacity. One such material is vermiculite. It is a silicate mineral that gets expanded when exposed to great temperature. The quality of thermal stability in this mineral is excellent and hence it is the ideal choice for using it as fire protection in duct spraying.

Brazil, China and South Africa have mines of silicate extensively and Vermiculite spray NSW is sourced from these countries.

Vermiculite is used to produce Vermiculite Spray NSW products used in
•    Steel structures that are involved in construction projects
•    Wooden structuresused in buildings
•    To apply in all types of duct works and fire dampers
•    To make doors, panels, false ceilings and frames fire resistant
•    Towardsproducing water proof furniture with the highest quality
There are many advantages in using this silicate mineral forproducing fire resistant products.
Some of the benefits in using Vermiculite Spray NSW are:
•    The cost difference is the main point of advantage to be considered. Products with other minerals and materials are more expensive than vermiculite products.
•    The versatile feature of this mineral is very useful in providing fire protection since it accommodates easy application on all surfaces as well as cables and beams.
•    It is suitable for all external and internal applications of fire protection systems.
Vermiculite Spray NSW provides 240 minutes of fire resistancewhen there is any fire accident.Hence this is one of the best methods in the passive fire protection system.

Duct Spray NSW – the best in Controlling of Fire Spread

Unexpected fire accidents cause damages to the buildings and to the people who are present in the place. Systematic approaches have been devised and developed in handling these situations under disaster management. While extinguishing the fire and saving the buildings, lives and their belongings to maximum possible level is one method, preventing the fire spreading at the construction stage itself is another method regarding fire protection. The first method is ‘active fire protection’ and the second method is ‘passive fire protection’.

Duct Spray NSW is more concerned with passive fire protection which is integrated withthe construction itself. It involves the application of passive measures at the design stage of the construction. In case of fire accidents, Duct Spray NSW and other passive fire protection methods become effective without the need for any water or electric power.

Areas of Passive Fire Protection along with Duct Spray NSW:

•    Duct Spray NSW safeguards all types of duct work which is the most important aspect in fire spreading and smoke causing.
•    Other systems safeguards various structural components
•    Compartmentalization is done for effective sealing of fire protection
•    Integrating the function of active fire safety measures

Most importantly, steel protection is very much necessary for any construction. This is because, steel can easily lose its strength when it faces 5500 centigrade heat due to fire and will collapse causing the building to fall down or severe damage. Fire rated ducts saves the metal ducts from getting distracted and hence it cannot extract smoke. Applying spreays and seals to these duct work is very important to retain the strength of ductworks.
